Oregon real estate

If you’re from California and you’re a little tired of the traffic, crowds and the cost of housing it might be time to look for some Oregon real estate.Homes for sale Salem Oregon  Currently the housing market is doing great, interest rates are low for buyers and we are still in a sellers market. Although the housing prices seem high by Oregon’s standards, they are probable quite low for those moving from California.

Still the homes for sale in Oregon are very well priced compared to the Portland area. Besides if you are relocating from California, home prices will be lower no matter where you end up.

Moving to Oregon

Moving to Oregon will give you the perfect appreciation for nature. The change of scenery from where ever you come from will be a marked improvement.

I think everyone moving to Oregon will be looking for the best places to live. There are many great places to put down roots, just depends on your situation. Although Portland has its share of traffic it is still a very nice city, lots of activities and a bunch of nice people.

Having lived in the state all my life there are many favorite spots I have. The Oregon coast has crabbing, clamming, fishing and a beautiful coast line. Eastern Oregon is incredible with the high desert, Mountains, skiing, hiking and everything for the out door enthusiast. Portland has all the big city stuff, Music, food, shows, the place is loaded. To the south beyond Eugene the population thins out a little and the rain decreases.

Central Oregon

One of my favorite places to be is in central Oregon. The Sisters, Bend, Redmond area has a wonderful selection of out- door activities, lots of wildlife and all the fresh air you want to breath. This area has been a favorite of many as one can tell from the population increase.

Weather it’s the smell of Juniper trees, sage brush or just that fresh mountain air, central Oregon is fun to kick around in.

The Willamette Valley has much to offer. If you are moving to Salem, Oregon, that is about 45 south of Portland you can expect to see far less traffic and congestion. Salem is far enough away from Portland to not be effected by the higher prices of housing either. You can expect to pay about  25% more for a place north of Wilsonville than south.

Highways in Oregon

Interstate 5 runs north and south through the state. As with many states the population seems to be greater along the main highways. Oregon is no exception. Although Oregon has 3 main highways that run north and south, the coast highway, or highway 101, Highway 97 that runs through central Oregon and Interstate 5, all great ways to see Oregon.
