For the past 4 to 5 years Oregon real estate has been very popular. The Moving to Oregon craze has created a little bit of a housing shortage here. Most areas in Oregon have seen sizeable appreciation with Newburg, Oregon seeing some of the highest at 24.9%.

Across the board most houses went up in value about 10-15%. Land in most areas saw the same increase in value as some people searching for a home’s are leaning towards buying a lot and building instead. I have seen the interest in land increase a bunch in the last 1-1/2 years.

Oregon real estate popularity doesn’t mean that it is all gone, there are many good deals on the market if you know where to look. I personally call many people that are selling their homes by themselves to increase my inventory. Another good Idea is to get ahold of people that rent their homes. You never know when they might get sick of being to be a landlord.
